The 2nd Beef Forum will take place on March 5th, within the Expodireto Cotrijal program, which will be between March 4th and 8th, in Não-Me-Toque. The theme of the 2nd Meat Forum will be “Meat Technology, Market and Culture – Connections for the Future of Meat in Rio Grande do Sul”. The forum promoted by Instituto Desenvolvimento Pecuária, together with Cotrijal and Cotripal, will take place from 1:30 pm in the production auditorium and will feature three lectures.
Pedro Albuquerque
In the first, Pedro Albuquerque will speak on the topic “Role of Livestock in the Stability of Production Systems in Soybean Areas”. He is an Agricultural Engineer graduated from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), with a doctorate and post-doctorate from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Albuquerque has experience in the areas of grazing ecology, pasture management and crop-livestock integration.
Case Cotripal
The second lecture will address the topic “Quality Meat Programs: the Cotripal Case”. The manager at Cotripal Frigorifico, Roberto Calza, and rural producer, farmer and rancher Emerson Peukert Schaedler will speak. Calza is an Agricultural Technician, graduated in Administration from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), with an MBA in Commercial Management from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) and a postgraduate degree in Innovation Management in Cooperative Organizations from the Escola Superior do Cooperativism (ESCOOP). Schaedler is a co-owner of Fazenda Bela Vista and Haras Santa Juvita, located in Boa Vista do Cadeado.
Communication and agriculture
The third lecture will have the theme “Communication as an Instrument for the Growth of Agriculture in Brazil. The speaker is professor José Luiz Tejon Megido, PhD in Education from the Universidad de La Empresa/Uruguay, Master in Education, Art and History of Culture from Mackenzie University, is a journalist, publicist, with specialization in Harvard, Pace University and MIT – USA and Insead – France. Tejon is also Academic Coordinator of the Master Science Food & Agribusiness Management at Audencia Business School in Nantes/France, Coordinator of the Agribusiness Center at Fecap in São Paulo, guest professor at FIA/USP and Insper.
