The installation of a new footbridge on ERS-118, in Sapucaia do Sul, will cause significant changes to traffic in the region. Between the 21st and 26th of February, the Autonomous Department of Highways (Daer) informs that blockades will be implemented at kilometer 2.5 of the highway, necessary for the safe assembly of the structure. During this period, drivers must pay attention to detour signs.
Specifically On the 21st and 22nd, the interruption will occur on the right side road, towards Gravataí-Sapucaia do Sul. Drivers will be able to use Poland and Sancha de Tovar streets as alternative routes. On the 23rd, the focus of the blockages will be the main lane, directed towards Sapucaia do Sul-Gravataí, where the right side road will be available for traffic. On the 24th and 25th, closures will occur on the main lane in the opposite direction, Gravataí-Sapucaia do Sul, with the left side road serving as an alternative. Finally, on the 26th, the blockade will take place on the left side street, with detours along Timbaúva, Padre Réus, Doutor Lisboa and Artur Bernardes streets.
This project is part of a larger investment, totaling R$28 million from the State Treasury, for the construction of six footbridges along the 21.5 kilometers duplicated route between Sapucaia do Sul and Gravataí. To date, two of these structures, located at kilometers 10 and 5, have already been completed and are in operation, benefiting residents of Sapucaia do Sul and Cachoeirinha.
The walkway at kilometer 2.5, in the assembly phase, is still awaiting expropriation and release of the section. The future walkways at kilometers 14 and 19, in Gravataí, are in the bidding process. All walkways will follow a uniform standard, with metal structures that comply with accessibility standards, including ramps, reinforced security and adequate lighting.
