The Imersão Arte na Mata program, an initiative aimed at valuing Visual Arts and the culture of the Atlantic Forest biome, announces the opening of registrations. This unique opportunity is aimed at female artists from the North and Northeast regions of Brazil, offering the chance to participate in an enriching cultural exchange in the city of Rolante, Rio Grande do Sul.
This project provides a week of artistic residency at Sítio Libélula, a prominent agroecological space in Rolante, which offers all the necessary facilities for a complete and productive immersion. During this period, the artists will explore and create works inspired by the theme “Atlantic Forest Biome“, using different techniques and approaches such as ceramics, photography, installation, performance, contemporary art and other hybrid forms of artistic expression.
Three artistic proposals will be chosen to participate in the project. Those selected will be entitled to a fee, round-trip tickets, specialized mentoring, food, accommodation and resources to purchase materials needed for their creations.
In addition to artistic immersion, the selected participants will have the opportunity to share their knowledge, giving free workshops to the local community, each in their area of expertise.
The curation and mentoring of the participating artists will be carried out by renowned professionals in the field of visual arts: Clarissa Silveira, Cristina Ribas, Cristina Rosa and Daliana Mirapalhete.
Finally, Imersão Arte na Mata is a project organized by Changing Ideas Institute, which celebrates 25 years of significant contribution to the Brazilian cultural scene. This project is supported by the Funarte Retomada 2023 – Visual Arts program, reinforcing its commitment to promoting art and national culture.
