Pelotas continues in Carnival rhythm this weekend. Not Saturday (17)at 2pm in the Center, on Rua Cassiano between Andrade Neves and Quinze de Novembro, Confraria do Samba, starts Street Carnival at 7pm, followed by Bloco Fantasmão do Fragata, with a performance on Avenida Duque de Caxias between Tenente Lira and Pinheiro Machado .
Not Sunday (18), the Bloco do Mapa, from 12pm, takes place on Rua Quinze de Novembro. And the Fragata neighborhood, starting at 2pm, welcomes Bloco Arrastão da Jamaica on Cristóvão Colombo and Vidal de Negreiros streets.
In the event of rain, the presentations will be transferred, and the Block directors will notify the community of whether or not the parade will take place via social media.
Intense participation
At the beginning of February, on the 3rd and 4th, the festivities took place at Blocos Praieiro in Laranjal, Sereno in Areal and Loucas da Cohab in Fragata. During the Carnival holiday, the party filled the city center, at the Gilberto Gomes cultural space with Cordão do Ponto Chic and Amigos da Mesa7. In Quadrado, the entertainment was from Batucantada and the Historic Center and surroundings of Praça Coronel Pedro Osório, Tira Corda do meu Bloco, Bonde da Várzea and Ursal. In Balneário dos Prazeres with Jacaré da Lagoa, and in the Porto region, Língua Maldita.
The City Hall is a partner with the Liga de Blocos e Cordões in organizing the events, through the departments of Culture (Secult), City Management and Urban Mobility (SGCMU), Transport and Traffic (STT), Urban Services and Infrastructure ( SSUI), the Municipal Guard (GM) and the Health Department (SMS) through Health Surveillance (Visa).
