A Association of Notaries and Registrars of Rio Grande do Sul (Anoreg/RS) informs about changes in notary office hours during Carnival 2024, which takes place from February 12th to 14th. According to the Normative Notarial and Registration Consolidation (CNNR), notary offices will resume activities on Wednesday, February 14, from 12pm.
During the Carnival holiday, the Notary and Registration Offices in Rio Grande do Sul will operate with special opening hours. The population is advised to check the specific opening hours of each unit in their respective municipalities to avoid inconveniences.
According to CNNR guidelines, state registry offices will suspend services on Monday (12.02) and Tuesday (13.02), with the exception of the on-call services of the Civil Registry of Natural Persons. The reopening will take place on Wednesday (14.02) at 12 pm, without interruptions.
Anoreg/RS emphasizes the need for advance planning for any notary service during the carnival period, aiming to ensure a hassle-free experience for everyone. Notary offices provide vital services such as birth and death records, marriages, wills, public deeds, property records, documents and legal entities.
Cláudio Nunes Grecco, president of Anoreg/RS, highlights the importance of prior knowledge about the opening hours of the state’s extrajudicial registry offices during Carnival, as established by CNNR. He advises the population to check with local registry offices about closing days.
