This Sunday (11), Novo Hamburgo will have a special Carnival program. It’s the Hamburgo Velho Folia Street Carnival, which brings musical performances, samba schools and a series of activities for children. The free event will take place from 3pm to 10pm in different parts of Hamburgo Velho.
Children’s carnival
From 3pm onwards, children can now enjoy the Children’s Carnival. The program includes face painting, balloon sculptures, characters, juggling, among others. The activities take place in the courtyard of the headquarters of the Municipal Secretariat of Culture, located at Avenida Doutor Maurício Cardoso, nº 132.
Street carnival
On the street, between the stretches of Rua Júlio Kunz and Rua Piratini, a trio-tram with several attractions will rock the afternoon and night. The first attraction starts at 4pm, with a performance by João Maurício and Bloco do Céu. Then, the samba schools Protegidos da Princesa Isabel and Cruzeiro do Sul liven up the Carnival, at 6pm and 7pm, respectively. The program ends with the Calamares show, at 8pm.
