With the forecast of high temperatures, the technical team at Gramadozoo, in Gramado, prepared popsicles for the animals. Frozen snacks began to be distributed this Tuesday (6). As long as the heat wave remains, the animals will continue to receive refreshment.
On the spider and capuchin monkey islands, mango popsicles with beetroot and ice cream in porongos stuffed with frozen papaya were distributed. The suspicious Grexains were given frozen meat popsicles. The capybara received frozen cucumber and two flavors of popsicles: mango with beetroot and mango with banana. The tortoises “ran” to enjoy their watermelon popsicle.
According to biologist Tathiana Barros, technical manager at Gramadozoo, the activity is part of the park’s environmental enrichment program. “In the summer, we propose activities that alleviate the heat. In addition to refreshing, the action seeks to keep animals stress-free. The more time they spend interacting, the better the result”, explains Tathiana.
Gramadozoo is located at Km 35 of ERS 115 and will be open daily during Carnival week, from 10am to 4pm.
