The city of Caxias do Sul opens space for the sale of fresh grapes directly from local producers starting this Thursday, February 8th. Consumers will be able to find fruits in different species with prices ranging between R$7.50 and R$11.50 per kilo, depending on the variety chosen.
This event is an initiative of the City of Caxias, which established points of sale in Dante Alighieri, João Pessoa and Dante Marcucci squares, also known as Praça da Bandeira. The grapes available come directly from the vineyards of Ademir Zanrosso, located on Line 40, and Nelson Piccoli, located in Nossa Senhora da Saúde. Both rural producers will be personally at the stands, ensuring the quality of the products with the support and supervision of specialists from Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (SMAPA).
Among the varieties offered are Isabel, Niágara white and pink, belonging to the American species, and Itália, Rubi, Benitaka, Moscato Poloski, Ribol, BRS Núbia and Alphonse Lavalle, categorized as European grapes. Consumers will find Niágaras for R$7.50 per kilo, Moscatos for R$9.00 per kilo and Fine Table Grapes for R$11.50 per kilo.
The stands will operate from Monday to Saturday, from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm, and will continue their activities as long as the grapes are available.
Flavor and health in bunches
Grapes, these jewels of nature, are more than just a treat for the palate; they are a reservoir of health and well-being. When it comes to fresh grapes, we are talking about a taste experience that transcends the ordinary. These grapes are not only a symbol of freshness but also an incredible source of essential nutrients.
Unmatched Flavor
Fresh grapes carry with them the pure and intense flavor that only harvesting at the peak of ripeness can provide. Each bite is an explosion of natural sweetness, with notes that range from subtly tart to deliciously sweet, offering a unique sensory experience.
Abundant Nutrients
Grapes are a nutritional gold mine. Rich in vitamins, such as vitamin C and vitamin K, they are essential for skin health and blood clotting, respectively. Furthermore, they are an excellent source of antioxidants, including the famous resveratrol and flavonoids, which fight free radicals and promote heart health.
Health Benefits
Regular consumption of fresh grapes is associated with a myriad of health benefits. Studies suggest that they can help reduce the risk of heart disease, due to their anti-inflammatory and vasodilatory properties. Furthermore, the fiber present in grapes helps with digestion and maintaining a healthy gastrointestinal system.
Culinary Versatility
Harvest grapes are not only delicious on their own, but they are also incredibly versatile in the kitchen. They can be used in salads to add a touch of natural sweetness, in desserts for a fruity flavor or even in main dishes, where their unique flavor can bring a new dimension to traditional flavors.
Sustainability and connection to the earth
Choosing fresh fruits from the harvest also means choosing a more sustainable path and a deeper connection with the land. Consuming fruit in season minimizes the environmental impact associated with long-distance transportation and supports local farmers, ensuring that future generations can continue to enjoy these little treasures of nature.
In short, grapes are a true blessing for fruit and health lovers. Whether enjoying them fresh, incorporating them into a variety of dishes or simply admiring their natural beauty, these fruits are a reminder of the best that nature has to offer.
