The federal government published, on Friday (2/2), an ordinance establishing the Public Health Emergency Operations Center (COE) for Dengue and other Arboviruses. The ordinance was published in an extra edition of the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU).
The creation of the COE had been announced by the Minister of Health, Nísia Trindade, on Thursday (1/2). The center’s objective is to make the government act more quickly in organizing the health system and health surveillance actions, in coordination with states and municipalities.
The center will have members from various departments of the Ministry of Health and bodies such as the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) and the National Councils of Secretaries (Conass) and Municipal Health Secretariats (Conasems).
