A FBOT, a robotics team from the Federal University of Rio Grande, will once again be present at the world robotics championship, which will be held in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, from July 17th to 22nd this year. Among the 22 teams registered globally, only 13 were selected to participate in this prestigious international event, FBOT being one of them.
To ensure your participation, the FURG team presented a complete portfolio of their achievements in robotics. This included a video demonstrating his robot’s abilities, a thorough scientific article describing the device’s capabilities and the tools used in its operations.
In addition, the team also provided access to the official FBOT website, where interested parties can find details about the group, its relevant publications and a history of the competitions in which the team participated.
FBOT project
The FBOT robotics team is made up of approximately 50 students, mainly from Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering and Information Systems courses. The project is an initiative by FURG’s intelligent automation and robotics group, aimed at developing mobile and autonomous robots to participate in Brazilian and, recently, world robotics championships.
In 2022, the Robotics Team at FURG won third place in RoboCup 2022, the Robotics World Cup, in Thailand, being the first outside the State of São Paulo to participate in the world cup in the category. In addition to the world championship, they were also two-time champions in the Brazilian Robotics Championship.
Currently, the group is among the top ten teams in the world in the @Home category, at RoboCup 2023, based in France. FBOT competes in the domestic robot category with DoRIS (Domestic Robotic Intelligent System).
