As of this Tuesday (30), the new price for Zona Azul rotating parking comes into force in Santa Maria. The City Hall issued Executive Decree No. 15/2024, which regulates the adjustment of tariffs considering the variation in the National Consumer Price Index (INPC) and urban expansion trends. The new values are:
• 30 minutes will be R$ 1.30 and can be extended up to 2 hours for R$ 5.20
• Notification fees were also adjusted to the value of R$20.35 for vehicles without a ticket and R$10.20 for using an expired ticket.
The new values will be valid on parking meters, the Rek Pay app, next to monitors and at the Rek Parking office.
Paid rotating vehicle parking occurs on weekdays from 9am to 7pm; and on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm. There are, in total, 60 parking meters and almost 2 thousand parking spaces in the central region of the city, with 1772 conventional spaces, 95 spaces for the elderly, 43 spaces for PWD and 75 spaces for loading and unloading.
The decree also determines that the concessionary company carry out studies for the implementation of a “pocket” (like an entire block), for exclusive parking for motorcycles – with a different rate, including an exclusive parking meter – and to create two areas with different rates: Zone Red Z1 with higher fare; and blue Z2 Zone with lower fare.
Studies were also determined to implement paid rotating parking on the following streets: Rua Duque de Caxias between Rua Coronel Niederauer and Avenida Presidente Vargas; Rua Vale Machado between Avenida Rio Branco and Rua Floriano Peixoto; Rua Silva Jardim between Rua Duque de Caxias and Rua Serafim Valandro; Rua Floriano Peixoto between Rua Vale Machado and Rua Silva Jardim; Rua Tuiuti between Rua Duque de Caxias and Rua Serafim Valandro; Rua Gaspar Martins in its entirety; Rua Dr. Turi in its entirety; and surroundings of the Franciscan University.
