Friends and family of the 29-year-old psychologist, a victim of dengue fever in the Federal District, paid tribute to the young woman on Friday night, with a mass in Guará I. The celebration took place in Paróquia São Paulo Póstolo, a community in which she participated. Alice Arruda was 29 years old, lived in the administrative region and died as a result of the hemorrhagic type of the disease last week.
Alice’s parents are inconsolable. The brothers, in disbelief at the girl’s death. “She always had the gift of words, of warmth. She loved listening and giving advice, it was no surprise that she chose psychology as a profession from an early age. She was incredibly passionate about what she did. She graduated in 2020 from UnB and, since then, her work has been focused on the children’s area, serving special children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Caring for and guiding these children made their eyes shine”, described Alice’s brothers, in a text sent to Metrópoles.
The report had access to Alice’s death certificate, which classifies dengue as the cause of death. Although the death occurred on January 19, the latest epidemiological bulletin does not count the psychologist as one of the victims. According to the Department of Health, the technical area can take up to 60 days to include a death in the bulletin.
Other passions
Passionate Cruzeirense, among the goals set for 2024 was watching a team game with the family at Mineirão, in Belo Horizonte (MG).

“Dearly loved and loved by everyone, very friendly and went to great lengths to help others, without expecting anything in return. He unfolded himself to make himself present. Her journey was short, but very intense. Always surrounded by friends and people who admired her. It certainly won’t be easy to continue without her, but Alice left a legacy of love, care and dedication that we will carry forever”, conclude the family.
Dengue scenario in DF
To date, the Health Department officially recognizes only three deaths from the disease in the Federal District. Ceilândia is the administrative region with the highest incidence of dengue, with 3,963 cases.
DF is the region with the most proportional cases of dengue.
Another recent death — also not yet reported by the Department of Health — is that of a patient who was admitted to Hospital Santa Lúcia, in Asa Sul. Businessman Felipe Francisco de Carvalho Marín died, aged 33, at 8:25 pm on Thursday (25 /1), with dengue hemorrhagic fever.
Felipe was rescued by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu), received treatment, but did not survive.
Emergency
Due to the serious situation in the city, the Government of the Federal District declared a public health emergency. The measure authorizes the local Executive to purchase inputs, hire services and professionals for a specified period of time, and thus, contain the progression of cases more quickly.
