Campo Bom kicks off the 5th Pequeno Gigante Football Cup on Friday night (26), at 9:30 pm, with the game 15 de Novembro x MZ Futebol (São José/SC), in the Under-14 category.
The opening of the competition starts at 7:30 pm, with teams gathering at Largo Irmãos Vetter. Then there is the parade of delegations to the Sady Schmidt Stadium where, at 8:30 pm, the Official Opening ceremony takes place and, subsequently, the first game.
The competition organized by Sulicampe, chaired by Orneide Tondin, hosted by Campo Bom City Hall, through the Municipal Department of Sport and Leisure (SMEL), will take place between the 26th and 31st of January, in several fields in Campo Bom. Tournament 92 teams from 40 clubs will participate, bringing together athletes aged between 10 and 19, divided into eight categories (under-10 to under-19).
“Once again, the Pequeno Gigante Cup will move not only Campo Bom’s football fields, but also local businesses. There will be more than 1,500 athletes, as well as technical committees, family members and scouts from many clubs who will be here”, celebrates Mayor Luciano Orsi.
Consolidated as one of the biggest youth competitions in the country, the Copa Pequeno Gigante always reveals new talents. “All games will have free entry and once again we hope that the public will attend and enjoy the shows”, notes SMEL secretary, Eduardo Assmann.
