With an appearance and feel very similar to leather, but free of raw materials of animal origin, vegan upholstery coverings are gaining more and more space in decoration. Keeping an eye on this trend, Cipatex® expands the color and texture options of its Facto Vegan laminate line.
The new versions are the “Medelin”, which has veins on the surface and deeper engraving, and “Oriente”, with a softer texture in solid colors.
Each engraving is made up of a palette of nine colors, with emphasis on shades of frost (well-washed olive), Mediterranean (tone of gray) and apricot. Classic tones, such as black and natural, and earthy tones, such as brown, coffee and caramel, complement the portfolio. “We decided to add new colors and textures due to the great acceptance of the vegan line. The robust structure linked to the sustainable appeal of the material has attracted the market and consumers”, comments Rafael Bonvicine, product and marketing manager at Cipatex®.
Architect Natália Falchi da Silva says that the demand for vegan materials to cover armchairs, chairs, sofas and other decorative items has grown a lot in recent years and should continue to be on the rise in interior projects. “Interest in this type of coating increased mainly after the pandemic, when many people changed their consumption habits. Vegan versions to create environments are present in many of our projects and have surprised customers with their natural appearance and comfort”, she emphasizes.
In addition to the new releases, the Facto Vegan line from Cipatex® has the Istanbul and Ankara engravings, which also look and feel very close to leather. Due to the composition that provides high mechanical and abrasion resistance, the coatings can be used in both residential and commercial furniture, from low to high flow of people.
Another highlight of vegan laminate is the practicality of cleaning and sanitizing, as the material is waterproof and can be cleaned regularly with a cloth dampened in soap and water.
