Porto Alegre, January 19, 2024 – The board of directors for the period 2024-2027 of the Union of Renewable Energy Industries of Rio Grande do Sul (Sindienergia-RS) takes office next Tuesday (23/1), at 9 am. Management will be led by Daniela Cardeal and Rafael Salomoni, elected president and vice-president, whose mission will be to further strengthen a sector that is undergoing consolidation in Rio Grande do Sul.
By 2030, among investments already made, in contracts or yet to be made, around R$26 billion are expected for the State, through generation from various sources (which include bioenergy, water, solar and wind) and transmission. The post-2030 period also includes the possibility of business in green hydrogen (around R$62 billion), onshore wind (R$120 billion), nearshore wind (R$70 billion) and offshore wind (potential of more than R$800 billion), among others.
In order to benefit the Rio Grande do Sul market with all this potential, the new board lists some areas of activity for the coming years. “When we talk about strengthening the renewable energy industry, we think about professional training, national dialogue, market studies to attract new investments, events that cover all renewable sources, in short, actions that encourage and demonstrate the participation of Rio Grande do Sul in global decarbonization”, highlights president-elect Daniela Cardeal.
Among the focus programs of the Sindienergia RS There will be Indústria Geradora, which will bring together companies that already operate in the renewable sector in Rio Grande do Sul, and plan ways to encourage their growth. “Education for Decarbonization is our professional training program for the future. We are looking a lot at academies, technical schools and now we are including early childhood education to create this awareness from an early age”, says Daniela.
Management will also remain close to municipal, state and federal governments, and with national entities that represent the Brazilian industrial sector, such as the National Confederation of Industry (CNI). “We want to show everything we are doing in Rio Grande do Sul to Brazil and at the same time bring experiences from outside the State that can be added here”, reports the president. Another new feature is the Markets Committee, whose main function is to show the full investment potential in regulated, free, carbon and distributed generation markets. “We will look closely at the obstacles and positive points to encourage and attract new investments to the State”, she explains.
This and other information will be shared during the inauguration, which takes place on Tuesday (23), 9am, in the auditorium at Avenida Carlos Gomes, 1492, in Porto Alegre.
