On Wednesday, 17th, ACIST-SL organized a meeting with members, authorities and the media for the inauguration ceremony of the Executive and Expanded Boards, the Fiscal Council and the coordinators of the Empreender Program Centers, who will be part of the administration of the entity from 2024 to 2025. Daniel Klafke assumes leadership, succeeding Felipe Feldmann.
The table of honor was formed by Daniel Klafke, Felipe Feldmann, Jaqueline Hoffler, director of the São Leopoldo Forum, Siegfried Koelln, president of the ACIST-SL advisory board, Juliano Maciel, municipal secretary of Economic, Tourism and Technological Development and Rodrigo Souza da Costa, president of Federasul.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity and for the trust placed in me. My goal is to maintain the same level of excellence as my predecessors, seeking to expand and add value to members,” said Klafke in his speech. He highlighted that he believes that associations and cooperation between companies strengthen a more solid, resilient business community with greater representation in the market. “I believe that a free market is the only tool that promotes social inclusion in a scalable and sustainable way.”
Technology was also a highlighted point in his speech. “The initiatives within the innovation environment located in the Technology Park will be maintained and expanded. We have concrete examples of the importance of the rapprochement promoted in the previous administration between local companies, who were not familiar with the Park and who are now carrying out development projects in partnership. Let’s encourage this connection even more.”
Klafke highlighted that 2024 is a year of several events in the city. One of them is municipal elections. “By statutory rule, ACIST-SL cannot have a partisan position, but it supports positions that defend economic freedom and the reduction of bureaucracy and will speak out when these values are affected.”
The 200 years of German Immigration in Brazil will also be an important theme for the new management of ACIST-SL. “We need to show new generations the importance of the legacy of these 39 people who stayed here, so close to us (in the Feitoria neighborhood). Show that your example of courage, boldness and hard work are the same requirements for an entrepreneurial mindset and the generation of prosperity”, he declared.
Apprenticeship
Felipe Feldmann, who will have a dual role in the current administration: president of the Advisory Board and director of Commerce, highlighted that the period in which he was in charge of ACIST-SL was an intense ‘lifetime MBA’, with a lot of knowledge”. “I had the opportunity to strengthen relationships, build new ones and experience associations in different situations. For all of this, I am very grateful for the invitation made by Siegfried four years ago,” he said. During that administration (2020/2021), Feldmann served as vice-president of Commerce, playing an important role in the Committee against Covid. Already as president, he recalled a notable challenge: receiving for the first time a vice-president of the Republic (Hamilton Mourão). “The team was tireless in complying with all protocol requirements, showing maturity and commitment.”
When congratulating Daniel Klafke on his new position, Feldmann emphasized that the harmony of positions will allow important projects to be continued, as well as new ones to emerge. “Daniel, you are surrounded by very special people. He will certainly have a very successful administration.”
Rodrigo Sousa Costa, president of Federasul, pointed out that ACIST-SL can count on the Federation for the most diverse demands, highlighting the importance of the Association’s presence in movements with a statewide impact. “You are part of the solutions, assuming your role as citizens”, he pointed out, referring to the demonstrations that led the Rio Grande do Sul government to withdraw the bill that would increase the ICMS rate from 17% to 19.5%. He concluded by inviting the entity to plan the future. “What role does ACIST-SL want to play and what role does it not want to play in 2035?”
Jaqueline Hofler, director of the São Leopoldo Forum and representing the Judiciary, highlighted the importance of ACIST-SL in the various sectors of the economy. “The entity speaks collectively and individually too, because by encouraging companies to be prosperous, it contributes to people’s quality of life, which is why I am grateful for the opportunity to be present at this event”.
The municipal secretary of Economic, Tourism and Technological Development, Juliano Maciel, highlighted ACIST-SL’s growing partnership with public authorities, aiming to find solutions to the demands of the private sector. As an example, he cited the permanent agenda to resolve obstacles such as the delay in releasing operating permits and the entity’s participation in the Independência Street Revitalization Committee. Regarding the new management, Maciel commented that he has strong expectations, especially in relation to the topic of Technology. “Certainly, this look at innovation and technology that Daniel will bring will also generate a positive impact for public authorities”, he noted.
