The 12th edition of the Stone Retail Economic Activity Index, which analyzed December data, shows a 1.4% drop in sales volume in the state of Rio Grande do Sul (RS), in the annual comparison. The study, which presents monthly retail movement data, is an initiative by Stone, a technology and financial services company that is the Brazilian entrepreneur’s main partner, in partnership with Propague Institute.
The survey is based on the methodology proposed by the Consumer Finance team at the Federal Reserve Board (FED), which devised a similar economic indicator model in the United States. Operations via cards, vouchers and Pix within the StoneCo group are considered. The objective is to map data from small, medium and large retailers on a monthly basis and publish a portrait of the national sector.
“With this data, retail closes the year 2023 pointing to a positive trend, an example of the resilience and recovery capacity of the sector, which generated doubts with much of the year being negative,” says researcher Matheus Calvelli.
This and much other information can be found on the Instituto Propague dashboard, which centralizes all essential data in a single location, making research and analysis simpler. This platform was developed to meet the demands of researchers and those interested in the sector, offering easy access to valuable information. See more at: Link.
