The city of Caxias do Sul has seen a large number of planned events that may not receive official approval from the Inspection Directorate of the Municipal Urban Planning Department (SMU). This occurs when the organizers of these events do not observe the minimum deadline for submitting the necessary protocols.
Rodrigo Lazzarotto, the department’s director, noted that there has been a significant increase in the number of cases in which requests are made outside the deadlines defined by municipal decree. This has caused disruption and, in some cases, made it impossible to evaluate and issue the necessary authorizations. “We will no longer accept processes that submit requests after the stipulated deadline,” he declared.
For clarification, anyone interested in organizing an event must submit a request signed by the event promoter to the Inspection Board. This request must be submitted at least 15 consecutive days in advance for micro events, 30 consecutive days for small events and 60 days for medium and large events. This ensures that the Inspection Department has sufficient time to evaluate the request and issue the necessary authorization, thus ensuring that the event can take place as planned and within the established standards.
