The 2024 Colonial Olympics, the traditional stage of the Caxias do Sul National Grape Festival, starts this Saturday (13) at 9:30 am, in the parking lot of Shopping Villagio Caxias. The fun competitions value the work and daily lives of those who live in rural areas and will be competed by teams made up of communication professionals.
Queen Lizandra Mello Chinali and princesses Eduarda Ruzzarin Menezes and Letícia de Carvalho will also be present and must demonstrate various tests, as well as the ambassadors and participants of the Community and Social Commission.
Evidences
In this edition, the Colonial Olympics celebrates its 30th anniversary and features 13 disciplines: making bigoli (dough), threshing corn, tractor racing, crushing grapes, mini 48 (bochinha), cheese throwing, cariola racing, taking grapes, game of panòcia (corn on the cob), carreto de cucagna, kick the mastela (children), sack race (children) and another surprise test.
The tests take place from January 13th to March 3rd, with urban stages and others in the districts. There will be 13 stages before the grand final takes place on March 3, the closing day of the National Grape Festival. In addition, there will still be the Colonial Paralympics. Registration for each stage is free and can be done in advance by calling (54) 99183-8166 and (54) 3207-1133 or directly at the test site.
The new features are the “Toma que é de Uva” competition, where the person who drinks the most grape juice in the shortest amount of time wins and the “Jogo da Panòcia”, which involves throwing corn on the cob.
In the final stage there will be a surprise test, worth double points. The winning team at the Colonial Olympiad will be awarded R$10,000, which will be donated to a municipal or state school in their community. The teams that win 1st, 2nd and 3rd place also receive a medal and the big winner receives a trophy.
