Parobé will hold the 18th Watermelon Festival between the 11th and 21st of January. The event, promoted by the City Hall, takes place on Rua Coberta in Praça Primeiro de Maio, which underwent major expansion and revitalization work with investments of more than one million reais.
The event has more than 20 stands, with the participation of the city’s rural producers who, in addition to watermelon and its derivatives, will exhibit and sell other colonial products to the public, such as green corn, juices, sugarcane juice, pastries, as well as orchids, among many others.
The event will also feature the traditional producers’ parade, Churrascão da Alegria, Estação Fandangueira, San Marino, Brilha Som, Teteco, Cleiton Borges, Tchê Chaleira, Senior Citizens’ Ball, Gospel Night, Escolha das Soberanas, inflatable toys and much more.
“We know the socioeconomic importance of watermelon planting, generating employment, income and dignity for dozens of producer families in Parobé. We are going to work, one more year, alongside our rural producers to produce another great event”, highlights Mayor Diego Picucha.
