In Porto Alegre, the Municipal Department of Water and Sewage (Dmae) started on Tuesday, 12th, the weekly dissemination ofthe bathing report for the beaches of Orla do Guaíbalocated in the Belém Novo and Lami neighborhoods, in the Far South, valid until the weekend, 16th and 17th.
“With the great movement on the Capital’s beaches during the summer, analyzes are important to ensure that the population, and anyone visiting Belém Novo or Lami, enjoys it and can bathe in peace and safety” says the general director of Dmae , Maurício Loss.
The analysis of bathing ability follows the provisions of Resolution No. 274/2000 of the National Environmental Council, which establishes that 80% of the analyses, from a set of the last five samples, must present a number of Escherichia coli not exceeding 800 MPN/100 mL and that in the last sampling this value does not exceed 2000 MPN/100 mL. The pH value must remain in the range of 6.0 to 9.0.
