The president of the Board of Directors of Ceasa Serra, Adiló Didomenico, welcomed the rural producers who sell their products in the space. “You have the longest working hours and face the greatest risks. They have been having a very challenging year due to the rainy weather and so many difficulties. Even so, we need to celebrate the fruit of so much dedication, as agricultural production in our region is very relevant,” he said.
Afterwards, Didomenico presented medals commemorating 25 years, together with the vice-mayor Paula Ióris, the director president of Ceasa Serra and secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply of Caxias do Sul, Rudimar Menegotto, and the operational manager of the plant, Alceu Thome. The awarded municipalities were represented by mayors Roberto José Dalle Molle (Antônio Prado), César Ulian (Flores da Cunha) and Douglas Pasuch (Nova Roma do Sul); vice-mayor Inácio Sonda (Nova Pádua); Agriculture Secretaries Lívio Bortolini (Garibaldi) and Jorge Luiz Lüdke (Nova Petrópolis); Agriculture directors Robison Vergottini Rattis (Farroupilha) and Luis Antônio Tonietto (São Marcos). In addition to Caxias do Sul, the consortium also consists of Ipê and Protásio Alves, totaling eleven municipalities in total.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Queen Lizandra Mello Chinali and princesses Eduarda Ruzzarin Menezes and Letícia de Carvalho invited everyone to the Grape Festival 2024. Afterwards, Friar Jaime Bettega led a moment of spirituality highlighting the Baby Jesus amid a backdrop specially created with agricultural products and lots of greenery. He recalled the trajectory of everyone who started Ceasa Serra and also the solidarity actions promoted at the location (Recanto Solidário), where foodstuffs in good consumption conditions are donated to entities registered with the Food Bank.
Farmer Evaristo Longoni spoke on behalf of rural producers, showing emotion as he recalled so many years of work and dedication. Márcio Zimermann represented the boxers and gave his testimony, highlighting the importance of the plant for supplying the region, Rio Grande do Sul and other states. The president of Ceasa Porto Alegre, Carlos Siegle de Souza, also participated in the event, as well as several political and agribusiness leaders.
Adcointer Ceasa Serra was formalized in November 1998. Trucks loaded with agricultural products depart from the center for several municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul and even other states. “It is a large commercial complex, which supplies the market with quality products at good prices, allowing buyers to find countless items in the same place”, observed Rudimar Menegotto. He presented recent investments, such as photovoltaic panels, and highlighted the need for permanent support from leaders to maintain the space.
Sales recorded in 2022 were 38.3 million kg, which corresponds to R$142.5 million. This year, until October, there are 32.5 million kilos, which corresponds to R$113.3 million.
