São Leopoldo, RS – The 3rd edition of Feliz Natal in São Leopoldo, Vila de Natal and Semae Cultural opened on Friday night, the 8th, with a light walk, which was attended by Santa Claus, and a Christmas show.
The light walk began on Rua Independência, corner of Avenida João Corrêa, and continued along Avenida João Corrêa, Primeiro de Março, to Praça da Biblioteca. The good old man led the people who brought their lanterns and candles, with his musical band in front, which played Christmas songs.
After the walk, Santa Claus was welcomed by hundreds of people and authorities at Praça da Biblioteca, where Merry Christmas in São Leopoldo was officially opened.
The square is completely decorated with Christmas trees, garlands, etc., and has a Christmas Village, with several miniature houses, including Santa Claus’s house, who will be welcoming children and their families every day, starting at 4pm.
In neighborhoods, local entities and communities will carry out activities in a decentralized manner. The events started in November and will run until January 6, 2024. Semae Cultural will host numerous shows and artistic spectacles until December 23.
