The Working Group for Caxias (GTC) promotes the third edition of the Municipal Income Tax Allocation Seminar “An act of solidarity” on December 7th, at the Caxias City Council.
The event that aims to provide transparency in the use of resources allocated by taxpayers takes place from 2pm in the Legislative plenary. The seminar is free and open to the entire community.
On occasion, municipal funds report to the community, informing the resources received through Income Tax allocation and which projects were supported with the amount. Furthermore, the seminar allows the community to learn about some entities and projects supported by the resources.
GTC
Since it was created, the Working Group for Caxias has raised awareness among the population about the destination, mainly of individuals, which does not generate costs and makes various social projects viable. Currently, the group is made up of 29 entities representing the city (see list below). The GTC has the noble mission of guaranteeing dignity to children, adolescents and the elderly in situations of vulnerability and social risk.
According to data collected by the GTC in conjunction with the Federal Revenue Service, of the amount of tax due in Caxias do Sul in 2023, around 32 million could have been allocated to municipal funds, but in fact last year’s allocation was closer to 3 millions of reais.
All declarations made by the Complete Model allow the allocation of up to 6% to municipal funds, 3% to COMDICA (Child and Adolescent) and 3% to the Municipal Fund for the Elderly. Declarations in the simplified model do not allow this allocation.
The possibility of allocation does not depend on whether the taxpayer has tax to pay or refund, the calculation is made on the income tax due. The allocation is made through the payment of a single DARF, if the taxpayer has income tax to pay, this amount will be deducted, if he has income tax to be refunded, this allocation will be added to the credit and corrected by the SELIC rate. The GTC works to ensure that this information reaches the largest number of taxpayers.
