The Banda Velho Romeu performs to launch the new album “Velho Romeu, play a banjo there” at Teatro Bruno Kiefer, at Casa de Cultura Mario Quintana, in Porto Alegre, on December 2nd, at 8pm.
The band was born in 2017 out of musical fun and, since then, the family gatherings of musicians Otávio Castilhos (singer and double bassist), Gerê (guitarist) and Marlon Castilhos (drummer and backing vocalist) became rehearsals with lots of music and fun.
The “Old Romeu, play a banjo there” show presents a different dynamic in the execution of the works, as during the performance there is, at various times, a real circuit of changing instruments, own compositions in an acoustic version, some national and international covers new meanings, as well as a brief history of the works that were re-recorded to compose the new album. In short, the band proposes an experience that dialogues with all ways of making music in the Velho Romeu style.
