The night of Monday, November 27th, was celebrated with great joy among the employees of Baly Brasil, a leading company in the energy drinks market in Rio Grande do Sul. The brand won the Carrinho AGAS 2023 award, promoted by the Associação Gaúcha de Supermercados (Agas) and which awarded 37 reference brands in Rio Grande do Sul.
The pioneering vision and commitment to innovation are the pillars of the Baly brand’s success. The beverage company has become one of the leaders in the energy drinks market in the country and today has 26 years of experience, with 17-fold growth in just four years, in addition to more than 120 million liters manufactured per year.
“It is with great satisfaction that we receive this important award in the segment, in Rio Grande do Sul. Such a strong state, which welcomed Baly and helped the brand gain national recognition. We continue to build our journey with passion and excellence, solidifying our position as a reference in the beverage market”, highlights Dayane Titon Cardoso, Commercial and Marketing Director at Baly.
National leader in pet packaging
It was through a major launch during the 2009 carnival that Baly introduced an energy drink in PET packaging to the market, a product until then sold only in cans and inaccessible to the consumer. Looking at customer desires and the democratization of energy consumption were the starting point of the brand’s success.
In 2019, the energy drink segment evolves with the arrival of flavored drinks. With an eye on consumer desire, Baly opened the doors to the Tropical flavor, kickstarting the portfolio of flavors that currently totals 17 different flavors, in addition to the 6 sugar-free options.
It was with a focus on the customer that Baly expanded its mix of flavors during the pandemic. While major players realigned their strategies, allowing themselves to be affected by market instability, the company took the opposite path and observed the new needs of its consumers, who feel the need to have new experiences at home, increasing the consumption of drinks and the need for different flavors in the market.
Agas Cart Award
The Agas Cart Award is recognition from the Gaúcha Supermarkets Association (Agas) to suppliers of the Rio Grande do Sul supermarket chain. The event is one of the most important awards in the Brazilian retail segment. “The current economic situation, with consumers looking for products with better cost-benefit options and getting their money’s worth, opens doors to the excellence of regional suppliers, which increasingly demonstrate the strength of the industry and the productive sector in Rio Grande do Sul. We have sought to create continuous opportunities in our events for small and medium-sized local suppliers, who will certainly be emerging as leaders in their markets alongside multinationals in the medium term”, says the president of AGAS, Antônio Cesar Longo.
The 37 recipients were elected by representatives of the 250 largest supermarket companies in Rio Grande do Sul. The ceremony took place at Grêmio Náutico União bringing together 900 players from the supply chain, authorities and members of the press.
