The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) ordered the seizure and prohibition of the manufacture, distribution, sale and advertising of counterfeit food supplements under the Vitafor brand. The statement was published this Thursday (23), in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU).
The counterfeit food supplements are COQ-10 200mg, KRILL VIT, OMEGA 3 – EPA DHA and OMEGAFOR VISION. The products are advertised and sold on various electronic sales platforms, according to Anvisa.
According to the agency, the company distributing the products, Vida Forte, informed Anvisa of the falsification of its products and provided images with the differences between the original products and the counterfeit ones. The origin of the counterfeit products is being investigated.

The bottle of the counterfeit product is brighter than that of the original product. The label of the counterfeit product has larger letters. Information about the batch and expiration date of the original product is described on the bottom of the bottle, while that of the counterfeit product is on the side label.

KRILL WHITE The original is presented in black gelatin capsules, while the counterfeit is presented in hard capsules. The bottle of the counterfeit product is brighter than that of the original product. The label of the counterfeit product has a lighter shade of blue.

OMEGA 3 EPA DHA counterfeit is presented in transparent gelatin capsules, with little difference from the original. The lid on the original label is dark blue, while on versions of the counterfeit product the lid is white. The labeling information on the secondary panels of the original product label is in color and that of the counterfeit product is in black and white.
