The Institute of Letters and the Postgraduate Program in Letters at UFRGS, through the Metamorphosis Research Group – Literature, Nature and Culture, promote, on November 30th and December 1st, the event “Metamorfoses da Poesia Brasileira in Modernity”. Activity on Brazilian poetry will feature lectures in the Celso Luft Auditorium (room 120 of the Administrative Building) and in the Classroom Building (room 105), both located at the Institute of Letters (Campus do Vale).
The opening lecture “The metamorphoses of the Ninfa in Manuel Bandeira, Donizete Galvão and Carlos Drummond de Andrade” will take place at 2 pm on November 30, Thursday, and will be given by Maura Voltarelli (USP). Next, Antônio Marcos Sanseverino (UFRGS) addresses “This provincial way of talking” – some notes on Manuel Bandeira’s modernist lyrics.
On December 1st, Friday, from 10:30 am, Rejane Pivetta (UFRGS) and Cinara Ferreira (UFRGS) will deal, respectively, with the themes “The marginal body and the poetics of anthropophagic devouring in Hélio Oiticica and Luiza Romão” and “Lara de Lemos between resistance and the future”. In the afternoon, starting at 2 pm, João Guilherme Dayrell (UFRGS) talks about “Ricardo Aleixo, Nuno Ramos, the machine and the world”, and Guto Leite (UFRGS) addresses “Ana Martins Marques: lyric and society”.
