Caxias do Sul will have a Mortuary Chapel in the North Zone, a demand that has been made by the region’s population for decades. The signing of the agreement for the construction of the chapel took place this Thursday (16), at the Belo Horizonte Community Center, during the 18th meeting of Fala, Caxias! + City, + Participation.
R$594,000 will be invested in the work that will be carried out by the company José Thomé, scheduled to begin at the end of December. Community leader Valdir Negrão, the president of Vila Ipê Zita Girardi and the president of the City Council, Zé Dambros, one of those most committed to the fight for the work, signed as witnesses, alongside mayor Adiló Didomenico and the Planning Secretary, Margarete Bender. The chapel will serve 30 neighborhoods.
old road
The mayor also confirmed the paving of the old road that leads to Flores da Cunha. The tender for the execution of the 900 meter stretch is being prepared by the city hall. The paving of Estrada João Boldo, which connects the Brandalise neighborhood to São Gotardo de Flores da Cunha, is already underway.
Too many demands
The capoeira performance by children and young people from the Conquistador da Liberdade group opened the meeting aimed at listing priorities for the North Zone. Then, 27 residents went to the microphone to highlight their priorities to Mayor Adiló and secretaries, making the meeting last – productively – for more than two hours.
Regarding the demands regarding lighting, the mayor reiterated that the neighborhoods of the North Zone, as well as the entire city, will be covered by the change in reality that is about to begin with the new public lighting contract. Starting in December, the Luz de Caxias Consortium will begin implementing 50,000 LED points throughout the city and will be responsible for maintenance for 24 years.
Also participating in this Thursday’s meeting were the presidents of UAB, Valdir Walter, and of the Belo Horizonte neighborhoods, Éberson Motta; Milleniun, Clóvis Barbosa; Portal da Maestra, Elisângela Ribas, and São Luis Santa Fé, Clori Bittencourt; and councilors Clóvis de Olveira, Xuxa, Elisandro Fiuza, Olmir Cadore and Lucas Caregnato.
Upcoming meetings
Fala, Caxias enters its final stretch. The 19th meeting will be this Saturday (18), at 4pm, in the Parish Hall of the Galópolis Main Church.
