This Saturday, the 18th, at 5pm, the Porto Alegre Symphony Orchestra (OSPA) promotes the concert Dvořák, Muñoz & Costa Lima, conducted by award-winning conductor Alba Bomfim. The program, which begins with “Alá – O Manto Branco de Oxalá na Festa do Bonfim”, by Bahian composer Paulo Costa Lima, reflects on ancestry, belonging and resilience.
Next, OSPA promotes the world premiere of “Concerto Austral for Horn and Chamber Orchestra”, a piece by Chilean Rodrigo Munõz that won the ‘Symphonic Music’ category of the Latin American Composition Competition for Horn, held in 2020 by the collective Latinoamericahorns . The piece’s solos are performed by Argentine horn player Fernando Chiappero.
UFRGS students, teachers and technical-administrative staff can collect up to two tickets, free of charge, at the reception of the UFRGS Cultural Center (Rua Eng. Luiz Englert, 333 – Campus Centro). Distribution takes place on Friday, the 17th, from 8am to 7pm, while tickets last.
