Last weekend, from November 10th to 12th, the city of Panambi hosted Startup Weekend, an entrepreneurship event supported by Unisinos and organized by Techstars. The proposed challenge was to create a startup in just 54 hours, during an intense three-day period dedicated to validating business ideas.
Débora Oliveira, professor at the Unisinos Polytechnic School, emphasized the importance of the university’s participation in events like this to boost the competitiveness and development of cities like Panambi and the region, known as an important metal-mechanical hub in the State. “Unisinos has contributed in several ways, whether by training professionals through our undergraduate and postgraduate courses, or by developing projects with local companies and institutions,” she said.
The winning group from Startup Weekend was awarded by Unisinos with a full scholarship for an MBA or extension course at the university, of the choice of each group member. Débora highlighted that “Unisinos’ portfolio of postgraduate courses offers several options for developing essential skills to boost a business. Therefore, it will be an excellent opportunity for the winning group to increase their chances of success in their proposal.”
