The Health Director of the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, Dr. Eliezer Silva, shared his perspectives on the main trends and movements in the healthcare market in a virtual lecture for the Chamber of Industry, Commerce and Services of Caxias do Sul (CIC Caxias) this Monday (13). He highlighted the importance of sustainability in healthcare and the need for institutions to remain competitive in an increasingly challenging market.
Dr. Silva presented an overview of the health sector in Brazil, highlighting the opening of 2,341 private hospitals between 2010 and 2021. However, this growth was offset by the closure of 2,702 private hospital units, resulting in a negative annual balance in most years .
He also discussed the business trend among healthcare players and the strategies adopted by institutions to face market challenges. According to him, the healthcare market is reconfiguring itself, with new entrants such as Amazon and Walmart indicating global trends and bringing innovations to the sector.
Speaking about Albert Einstein Hospital, Dr. Silva mentioned that the institution is investing in digital transformation and adopting technologies that have the potential to generate benefits and opportunities for the future of healthcare organizations.
