The Avenger watch, from Swiss brand Breitling, was designed more than 20 years ago for fighter pilots. But you don’t need Air Force credentials to appreciate its bold design, exceptional strength and functionality.
The new range of watches arrives in three formats. A 44mm chronograph, a 44mm automatic GMT model, and a 42mm automatic model.
All watches come with the option of a military leather strap with a folding pin clasp or a stainless steel bracelet with a micro-adjustable folding clasp. Each example has a water resistance of 300 m. Regardless of the user’s ability to perform an aerial barrel roll maneuver, its functionality, grip and corrosion-resistant construction will surprise.
AVENGER B01 CHRONOGRAPH 44 E NIGHT MISSION
The strength of the new Avenger chronograph lies in the Breitling manufactured Caliber 01, which provides a power reserve of approximately 70 hours and a five-year warranty, as well as being a COSC-certified chronometer. To reveal the precise mechanics of the movement, the chronographs are equipped with a transparent sapphire crystal case back.
The flagship models in this line feature a colored dial (blue, green, black or sand) and a 60-minute rotating stainless steel bezel. Stick-shaped indices simplify the dial, highlighting the red tip of the chronometer hand. You can notice the textured finish that gives excellent levels of grip to the crown and bezel, as well as the new square buttons, designed for smoother chronometer operation.
For those looking for an even bolder look, the Avenger Night Mission chronograph — with a vibrant yellow or carbon black dial — has a case and bezel constructed entirely from scratch-resistant ceramic. The caseback, crown, buttons and buckle are made from solid titanium, providing the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any metal. The dial numbers provide superior legibility, particularly on the black dial, which is constructed from especially resilient carbon fiber.
It is no coincidence that carbon fiber, titanium and steel are also the most used materials in aeronautical construction. The Avenger was designed to be light and strong, just like the jets they fly on.
AVENGER AUTOMATIC GMT 44
Appreciated by pilots and frequent travelers alike, a red GMT hand provides a quick reading of Zulu time (corresponding to the Greenwich meridian) along with a rotating 24-hour bezel. The diameter is the same as the chronograph, with a more compact profile. The steel-cased Avenger Automatic GMT comes in a choice of black or navy blue dials, on a military leather or stainless steel strap. It is powered by the COSC-certified Breitling Caliber 32 that provides an approximate reserve of 42 hours and is backed by a two-year warranty.
AVENGER AUTOMATIC 42
This well-balanced watch has all the robustness of the other models in the line with a 42 mm diameter dial. Made from steel, the Avenger Automatic offers a choice of black, navy blue or military green dial, with the option of a military leather strap in the same tone or stainless steel. Its engine is the COSC-certified Breitling Caliber 17 three-hand automatic movement, providing up to 38 hours of power with a two-year warranty.
