The number of Covid-19 cases more than quadrupled in October compared to the months of August and September in Baixada Santista, on the coast of São Paulo, according to a report made by g1. For the infectious disease doctor and director of the Brazilian Society of Infectious Diseases, Leonardo Weissmann, treatment “a new wave of Covid-19” is emerging and requires care from the population.
Between August and September, 428 people tested positive for the disease caused by the coronavirus in eight cities in Baixada Santista (Praia Grande does not count the cases). Meanwhile, in October alone, 2,123 cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the eight municipalities (see the data by municipality below).
