“Novo Hamburgo em Movimento” is the theme of Virada Cultural 2023, which will take place on the 4th and 5th of November, in the Center of Novo Hamburgo. The event promoted by the Municipal Department of Culture is free and will feature 36 hours of shows, music, theater, dance, art, audiovisual, workshops and scenic interventions that will take place from 10am on Saturday until 10pm on Sunday.
There will be two stages with attractions at the same time at times: the main one, located in the middle of Praça do Imigrante, in the same place where the Regional Book Fair was held, and the Sebastião Flores stage, in front of the stalls. In addition to these two points, Casa das Artes will be the stage for some attractions, such as workshops and theatrical shows, as well as the Machado de Assis Municipal Library.
Among the main attractions of this edition is the singer of “Anunciação”, “Morena Tropicana” and “La Belle de Jour”, Alceu Valença, who will close Virada on Sunday, at 9 pm. For the nostalgia of teenagers from the 2000s, the band Reação em Cadeia will be on the main stage at 9pm on Saturday. For those who like a dance, the Champion Band will be responsible for the entertainment at 2pm also on Saturday, the 4th.
The Machado de Assis Municipal Library will hold a special edition of “Night at the Library”, starting at 6:30 pm on Saturday with story telling and other activities for the children.
