The term covers situations in which an apparently healthy person loses consciousness due to, for example, cardiac arrest and may die within an hour of the first symptoms appearing. In addition to a heart attack, sudden illness can be caused by severe dehydration. Neurological events, such as stroke and severe seizures, can also cause sudden illness.
What are the symptoms of sudden illness?
This condition must be seen as a maximum emergency situation, since, after every minute, the victim’s chances of survival are reduced by 10%. In some cases, the sudden illness may not be preceded by any symptoms, but in most cases the condition is preceded by:

In addition to this, other problems linked to the heart can also be the cause of sudden illness, such as:
- Myocardial infarction.
- Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (large heart).
In addition to the heart, neurological causes can also trigger sudden illness, such as:
- Convulsive seizures.
- Hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke.
In addition to these causes, other diseases and conditions can culminate in an episode of sudden illness, such as:
- Uncontrolled diabetes.
- Drug’s use.
