Biomedical doctor Lorena Marconde, investigated for the death of Íris Dorotéia do Nascimento Martins, did not have basic equipment to carry out major surgical procedures in the clinic where she works, such as, for example, a blood pressure monitor. The information was passed on by the delegate responsible for the case, Marcelo Nunes, to TV Integração this Tuesday (10/24).
The Civil Police of Minas Gerais (PCMG) concluded the investigation investigating the death of Íris Martins, aged 46, as a result of complications following an aesthetic liposuction procedure carried out at a clinic in Divinópolis.
Lorena Marconde was indicted for intentional homicide, with possible intent, when the risk of killing is assumed. Furthermore, the delegate highlights that the crime has two qualifiers, base motive and treason, since the biomedical doctor deceived patients who placed trust in her to carry out the procedures.
Nunes reinforces that biomedicine performed the procedures solely for profit, which could bring risks to patients.
Two other employees of the clinic will be charged with simple homicide as patients involved in the crime. They would have helped with the aesthetic procedure that led to Iris’ death.
Metrópoles tried to contact Lorena Marconde’s defense, but received no response. The space remains open.
