Medical student Lucas Borba, 26, died after spending around ten days in a hospital in Palmas due to an infection. He was in the third period of his course at the Federal University of Pará (Ufpa) and was living a dream come true.
“Lucas was a happy boy, full of dreams. He started studying engineering, but his great passion was medicine”, lamented his cousin Arthur Wieczorek.
Lucas was admitted to Palmas about ten days ago. According to his cousin, he had an infection and the cause of death was kidney and liver failure.
The wake is being held at a funeral home on block 108 Norte, in Palmas. The body must be taken to Nova Olinda, in the north of Tocantins, where the maternal family lives.
He must also be laid to rest at the city’s City Hall and the burial is scheduled for this Tuesday morning (24) in the Nova Olinda cemetery.
On social media, many friends and relatives mourned his death. The academic directory of the medicine course at the Federal University of Pará (Ufpa) commented: “Lucas, you will forever be in our memories! Rest in peace! You were amazing!”
