Tiffany & Co. presents Out of the Blue as a continuation of Nathalie Verdeille’s first Blue Book collection for Tiffany & Co. The House’s artistic director of Jewels and High Jewelry pays homage to Jean Schlumberger’s marine-inspired masterpieces and explores its fantasy perspective of the sea. Tiffany & Co. will expand five of the collection’s existing themes – Shell, Coral, Fish, Sea Urchin and Starfish – and reimagine Schlumberger’s vision in a new theme: Sea Anemone. Stylized, each masterpiece perpetuates and reinvents Schlumberger’s enigmatic symbols of the sea.
The ocean-inspired masterpieces are an ode to Jean Schlumberger’s rich creative repertoire. From his creations, we create a new dream language that brings to life what he brilliantly conceived half a century ago.
Often described as the flower of the sea, the Sea Anemone theme pays homage to the dexterity of this creature’s form. This new addition to the Blue Book 2023: Out of the Ordinary collection features highly innovative design mechanisms such as a bracelet containing diamonds, blue Cuprian elbaite tourmalines and turquoises set in tremblant – imparting a sense of subtle movement. Other creations are designed with an inverted configuration consisting of diamonds with their culets facing outwards, giving a spiky texture, amplifying the Sea Anemone theme.
Other creations include a shell necklace with diamonds and a blue cuprian elbaite tourmaline weighing over 10 carats, a fish necklace with an untreated orange sapphire weighing over 23 carats, a coral necklace with untreated purple sapphires weighing over 37 carats, total carats and diamonds, and a starfish pendant with diamonds and an untreated green Cuprian elbaite tourmaline weighing over 22 carats.
