The Brazilian Women’s Group – Núcleo Caxias – through the Health Committee, remains firm in the “Outubre-se” campaign, an initiative dedicated to recovering self-esteem and motivating women undergoing treatment for breast cancer.
Focusing on donating hair to make wigs, the campaign seeks not only to offer material support, but also emotional support, for those who face this difficult battle in the trajectory of life.
The main action will be the hair collection on October 22nd, Sunday, from 9 am at UCS (in the parking lot in front of Cetel, if it’s sunny; or if it rains, in the lobby of the UCS theater). Hairdressers and people willing to donate are invited to participate, contributing strands of hair measuring at least 15 cm. Hair must be clean and dry before cutting. To participate, you must fill out a form available on the Center’s Instagram profile (@grupomulheresdobrasilcaxiasdosul).
The campaign also encourages the donation of scarves and the purchase of campaign pins for the value of R$30. A collaboration with the Hemocentro de Caxias do Sul is also in place: anyone who donates blood during October will receive an “Outubre-se” ribbon ”.

Early detection is essential, and the Women of Brazil Group – Núcleo Caxias – is committed to creating awareness about the importance of prevention. Furthermore, it recognizes the need to raise the self-esteem of women undergoing treatment, providing them with emotional and physical support during this challenging phase.
The “Outubre-se” campaign has the support of Sindiserv; Women’s League to Combat Cancer of Caxias do Sul; Humanizar Saúde, Microempa, Microempa Women Entrepreneurs Sector Center; Our Well-Being Newspaper; Elvira Wigs and Extensions; Yoga Caxias and UCS.
