Roberta Correa, who died this Friday (13) after entering a clinic to undergo an aesthetic procedure in Cosmópolis (SP), was 44 years old and was a photographer specializing in recording weddings.
Married and mother of two children, she was well known in the city and ran the communications department at Cosmopolitano Futebol Clube (see note below). According to family members, she had recently started a career as a music producer.
“Unfortunately, we lost a life. A fantastic person, with many projects and dreams. We want to find out what happened so we don’t let Roberta’s light go out like this.”cousin Paola Eliza Lück de Paula told EPTV, a TV Globo affiliate.
“The Cosmopolitan Family expresses its condolences to the husband, children, relatives and friends of our director Roberta Correa, who, regrettably and prematurely, left us. Selfless, generous, companion, Roberta was always available to work for Cosmopolitano”.
“Her cheerful personality built true friendships and made living with her wonderful. With exemplary conduct, he inspired us all”, the team published on social media.
“To his family, we can only express our sincere tributes, offering our support and solidarity. What is up to us from now on is to honor her memory, making this club that Roberta loved so much better. May she continue to watch over us from above”, she adds.
Malaise after anesthesia
According to family members, Roberta went to the clinic on Friday (9) to have an endolaser, a technique that uses a laser to remove localized fat and reduce sagging.
She reportedly felt unwell immediately after the anesthesia was administered, but relatives say the procedure continued until she suffered a seizure.
The patient was taken to Santa Casa in the city, where her death was confirmed. The family chose to donate organs and the wake is scheduled to take place on Monday (16).
Biomedical doctor Vanuza Aguilar Takata confirms that the patient felt ill at the beginning of the anesthetic application, which would have been carried out by another duly qualified professional, but states that the procedure did not even begin. She also says that “help was provided immediately and the professionals were available for all needs and inquiries”.
The owner of the property where the service took place states that, as she has unoccupied rooms, she rented them to other beauty professionals, including the clinic, and that each one is independently responsible for providing the service. She also informed that Health Surveillance attended the scene and took relevant measures in the treatment room.
