Daniel was hit by three shots. He was admitted to Hospital Lourenço Jorge, where he underwent orthopedic surgery on his legs, but was transferred to Hospital Samaritano Barra in the early afternoon.

The doctor graduated from Faculdade de Marília in 2016, and is a specialist in orthopedic surgery.

How was the attack
The orthopedists were staying at the Hotel Windsor, on Avenida Lúcio Costa, which will host the 6th International Congress of Minimally Invasive Foot and Ankle Surgery starting this Thursday.

Early in the morning, the 4 were at a kiosk in front of the hotel. At 0:59 am, a white car stopped, and 3 men dressed in black and armed with pistols disembarked and opened fire at close range.

There were at least 33 shots. One of the criminals even returned to shoot more at one of the doctors who was trying to take refuge behind the kiosk.

At the moment the criminals fired the shots, two customers who were sitting at a table in the establishment ran. The action lasted less than 30 seconds.

Agents from the 31st BPM (Recreio dos Bandeirantes) carried out searches, but no one was arrested.
