The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) determined last Friday (29/9) the suspension of marketing, distribution and use of 28 batches of the apple-flavored Cereser Sidra drink (green glass bottle containing 660ml).
According to the agency, there is the possibility of the presence of small fragments of glass next to the drink – approximately 0.2% of the affected batches may have been impacted by alteration of the containers during the packaging process, which led to the transfer of the fragments to the inside of the bottles.
According to the Agency, the company responsible for manufacturing, CRS Brands Indústria de Comércio S/A, began the voluntary collection of bottles on September 25, which was communicated to Anvisa.
Ingestion of glass fragments poses a risk of damage to health, such as cuts in the mouth or other parts of the digestive system if ingested, warned Anvisa.
The affected batches were manufactured on 07/22/2023, 08/16/2023 to 09/02/2023 and concern 2,237,952 units of the product or 186,496 boxes.
Anvisa announced that, if anyone has the informed lot, they can contact the company by phone 0800 702 2517 or by email [email protected] for guidance on the recall or replacement procedure.
