Porto Alegre hosts the 1st State Festival of Dramatic Sketches (FEED) on the 7th and 8th of October. The event takes place at Casa de Cultura Mario Quintana, starting at 6:30 pm, and features the presentation of twelve sketches selected during the month of July through a public notice, in addition to dramaturgy and production workshops, and a conversation circle about art and new technologies.
Produced by the production company Polvo Cultural, the 1st FEED was born from the union of several artists who aim to provide tools for experimentation and creation of artistic works. The Competitive Exhibition intends to offer trophies and cash rewards for the eight categories of the Exhibition: Best Sketch, Dramaturgy, Best Use of Space, Special Jury Prize, Best Production, Direction and two awards for Performer. The Best Popular Jury Sketch category receives a trophy from the organization.
Twelve sketches were selected, four of them from productions in the interior of the State and the others from the capital, with proposals for new concepts that value themes about diversity, with content ranging from comedy to drama and in a variety of languages. According to producer Danuta Zaghetto, the 1st FEED also aims to exchange new artists and the relationship with the current hybridism of the arts and the dynamism of social networks.
Workshops and conversation circles
The 1st FEED also offers a dramaturgy workshop with the Pretagô Group, which aims to address the dramaturgical creation processes of the Pretagô group’s shows as well as the concepts of “ritual” and “personal archeology”. Through some practical provocations, participants will be able to experiment and create brief scenes based on the concepts presented.
The workshop takes place on 7/09, at 4pm, with Manuela Miranda, actress and art educator trained in the Department of Dramatic Art at UFRGS. The production workshop with Grupo Borogodó takes place on 8/09, at 4pm, with actors and cultural managers, Gabriel Botelho and Junior Sifuentes. The objective is to bring the main challenges and possible paths for beginning artists to enter and remain in the cultural market, addressing the strategic planning of artistic groups and organizations.
The program includes a conversation scheduled for 07/09, at 2pm, about hybridism in the scene between art and technology, with the artist João Carlos Machado, professor at the Department of Dramatic Art at the UFRGS Institute of Arts and coordinator of the Insubordinate Research Group (GRIPE), and actor and director Alexandre Dill, from Grupo Jogo. Among the themes are the creation of images with artificial intelligence, creation and editing of a soundtrack using artificial intelligence, and the use of live video transmission platforms.
Registration for the workshops and conversation circles is free and can be done via electronic form via from this link.
