Instituto Ling, in Porto Alegre, has reserved a special program for children for the month of October. There will be three children’s shows from Rio Grande do Sul for presentation on Saturday afternoons, always with two sessions of each piece, one at 3pm and the other at 5pm.
Letrinhas Ball
The special program begins on October 7th with Baile das Letrinhas, based on the book of the same name by Deborah Finocchiaro, which stars in the production directed by Júlia Ludwig. The play invites children of all ages to embark on a poetic and playful adventure through the universe of the alphabet. With simple elements that transform before their eyes, the audience learns to dance with letters and words, recognizing their shapes and sounds through images, live music and manipulation of objects.
Frankinh@ – A story in little pieces
Then, on October 21st, the cultural center will be the stage for Frankinh@ – A story in little pieces, winner of the SESC Performing Arts Award. The play, for children aged six and over and teenagers, is inspired by the characters and situations in the work Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley, a classic between different generations that works as a starting point to talk about childhood, growth, loss, isolation, bullying, friendship, self-esteem, creativity and acceptance of oneself and others. The adaptation, signed by Projeto Gompa, is told through narration, theater, dance, visual arts and an original soundtrack.
Tóin: Dance for Babies
The end of the special agenda for little ones will be on October 28th with Tóin: Dance for babies, by Muovere Cia de Dança. The experience, designed for audiences aged zero to three, is made up of two activities: the show itself and a workshop, both based on encouraging receptivity and experience with dance. The montage is inspired by books, images and poetic content by authors such as Gláucia de Souza, Mario Quintana and Eva Furnari, translators of the symbolic and magical universe of early childhood, as well as videos of internet attractions such as Bebê Jeans, Menina Flor, Sapo Xulé , Dance of the Toothpick and Topo Giggio.
Tickets for all performances are on sale at site and at the reception of the cultural center (Rua João Caetano, 440). Entries for each session cost R$25 for babies and children and R$50 for adults.
