Formed by 50 young people aged 10 to 14, the UCS LionsEduC Youth Orchestra invests in student training through free musicalization workshops, musical theory, instrument classes and orchestra practice for instruments such as flutes, violins, violas, cellos and double basses. Performances in schools and now this one, at the UCS Theater, are part of the training process of the Orchestra’s members.
The training and presentation project for young musicians follows different stages. The current phase has the students themselves involved in the presentations, demonstrating theoretical and practical mastery of the activities. The presentations are inclusive, with a Libra interpreter. After the concert at UCS Teatro, the Orchestra will also be at the 39th Caxias do Sul Book Fair, on the 11th, at 4pm.
The conception of the Youth Orchestra mobilized music professionals linked to the UCS Orchestra and UCS School of Music with support from the UCS music degree course. The pedagogical coordination is by professor Fábio Alves and the initiative is part of the activities carried out by UCS Cultural, coordinated by Moacir Lazzari, and by the UCS School of Music, which is coordinated by professor Vitor Manzke. The executive and cultural production is by Flor Nieto and the Lynch Gestão Cultural team.
