Dr. Jones has relaunched its Charcoal line for skin and beard cleansing. The brand invested in high-purity activated vegetable charcoal extracted from the Japanese Ubame Oak (ウバメガシ) plant and from sustainable sources as the main active ingredient for the development of a facial soap and a beard shampoo. The choice, according to Paulo Roseiro, director of Research and Development at Grupo Boticário, is due to the active ingredient’s anti-greasiness and detox properties, ideal for one of Brazilians’ biggest complaints regarding their skin, oiliness.
The formulations also received other active ingredients such as Panthenol and Ginger Extract, which guarantee moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties for deep cleaning, without dryness, also preventing the appearance of dandruff, ingrown hairs and flaking. The Artichoke active ingredient, present in the shampoo, guarantees, in addition to antioxidant action, protection against UV rays and other external aggressors.
