Estância Velha will become a reference for the cities of Morro Reuter and Santa Maria do Herval for referrals and care for patients with HIV. The first step was taken on the morning of Thursday, September 15th, when the Health Department of Estância Velha held a meeting with the responsible sectors of neighboring cities. The event took place in the auditorium of the city hall and was attended by the Secretary of Health, Christian Silva, and the Ministry’s Health Surveillance team, as well as the Health Secretaries of the two cities.
After this meeting, two other moments will be scheduled (September 23rd and October 3rd) for the Morro Reuter and Santa Maria do Herval Health Departments to come to Estância Velha and monitor the internal flows and procedures adopted.
According to the Health Surveillance coordinator, Eliane Fleck, patients will continue to undergo exams and have their diagnoses in their respective municipalities. However, Estância Velha will be the reference for sending collected materials to the reference laboratory and scheduling specialized care with an infectious disease specialist. “These first moments will help to get to know the teams and work routines”, highlights Eliane.
