The Pelotas Parque Tecnológico, an enterprise that aims to develop the region through innovation, knowledge and cooperation, is promoting a competition to encourage university students in the city to think about solutions for the sustainable mobility problems that Pelotas faces. The competition is part of the Ciclovia da Inovação project, which intends to interconnect the city’s innovation ecosystems in the layout of the existing bicycle path and expand non-polluting and healthy transport options for the population.
How to participate
Those interested in participating in the contest must be enrolled in a higher education institution in Pelotas and send their proposals by August 13th to the link: . Each applicant can submit up to two proposals and must choose one of the challenges pre-defined by the public notice, which are:
- Need to increase the number of bike racks;
- Traffic safety awareness (vehicle drivers, cyclists and enterprises);
- Mandatory equipment for use by cyclists (lack of use and lack of resources for acquisition);
- Need to expand traffic signs with emphasis on bike lanes and lanes for vehicle drivers;
- Difficulty in establishing routes that have bike lanes and lanes to the destination.
Proposals will be evaluated by a judging commission and the three winners will be announced on August 19, the date on which Cyclist Day is celebrated. The prizes are:
- 1st place – 1 (one) Rim 26 Forss Spike Bicycle, 18 gears, Orange, 1 (one) month of free monthly fee to use the Coworking CoPlace at Pelotas Technological Park and 1 (one) Cycling Thermal Hydration Backpack 2.5l Gtsm1 Mib;
- 2nd place – Shopping voucher in the amount of R$ 250.00 (two hundred and fifty reais) to be exchanged for products at JL CASARIN and 1 (one) Cycling Thermal Hydration Backpack 2.5l Gtsm1 Mib;
- 3rd place – 1 (one) Bike Computer Gps Cycling Atrio Iron Bi091 Strava Mtb Speed and 1 (one) Thermal Hydration Backpack Cycling 2.5l Gtsm1 Mib
