The RS Criativo program, created by the State Secretariat for Culture (Sedac) to foster the creative economy in Rio Grande do Sul, will launch next week the Caravanas RS Criativo 2023 project, which will offer around 1,500 hours of training for entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs in the creative sectors. The project has the support of Sebrae/RS and will have face-to-face and virtual activities in several regions of the State.

The project launch events will be held in Porto Alegre and Caxias do Sul, with the presence of the Secretary of State for Culture, Beatriz Araujo. In the capital, the event will take place on July 17, at 6 pm, in Sala Sebrae, at Instituto Caldeira. On the occasion, there will be a presentation of Caravanas RS Criativo 2023 and an exhibition of the cases of Andreza Mosz da Muy and FlowJack, with the brand Tecendo com Tinta Preta.
On the following day (18th), at 3:30 pm, in Caxias do Sul, the event will take place at the Municipal Chamber of Industry, Commerce and Services (CIC-Caxias), with broadcast on the youtube from Sedac. The vice-president of Industry at the entity, Ruben Bisi, will be the host of the meeting, which will include the presentation of the Caravans and the launch of the seal of the Caxias Criativa program. There will also be an exhibition of the cases Vielas Espaço Cultural and Cristina Lisot Textile Art.
Still in Caxias, secretary Bia Araujo will visit the Gerd Bornheim Art Gallery, which houses the exhibition “Jardim de Roccas”, by artist Cristina Lisot. This initiative has resources from Pro-Cultura – Culture Support Fund, of the State Government of Rio Grande do Sul.

The Caravans RS Criativo 2023 are an integral part of the RS Criativo program and will travel through the Coredes Functional Regions of Vale do Rio Pardo and Vale do Taquari, Campos de Cima da Serra, Hydrangeas and Serra, North Coast, South, Campaign and West Border, Northwest Border , Missões, Colonial Northwest and Celeiro, Alto Jacuí, Central, Jacuí-Centro and Jaguari Valley, Alto da Serra do Botucaraí, Middle Upper Uruguai, Northeast, North, Production and Rio da Várzea.
The project provides for inspirational virtual lectures, online training trails for each functional region of the State, offline content available at any time and an in-person Empretec residency cycle in three regions of the State.
“We want to quadruple the public served by the program, in a mentoring process for creative businesses”, explains the coordinator of RS Criativo, Carol Biberg.
Training for the creative economy
The Caravanas RS Criativo 2023 are an opportunity for those who want to qualify and enter the creative economy, which covers sectors such as arts, music, fashion, games, among others. The project will offer lectures, workshops, recorded content and an exclusive day of creative and entrepreneurial residency, which will serve 90 creative businesses in nine regions of the State.
The objective is to enable participants to deal with the new scenario, marked by the advancement of digital technologies and the need for innovation and sustainability. The training will be given by a multidisciplinary team from different areas of activity in Brazil, with the aim of expanding the strategic understanding of the dynamics of the creative economy.
The Caravans are part of the Creative Territories – New Season axis, which are carried out by Sedac, through RS Criativo, with resources from the Ministry of Culture and the Federal Government, and support from Sebrae. The activities will be free and aimed mainly at those who work and live in the nine functional regions of the State.

O RS Creative is a strategic government program, operated by the State Secretariat for Culture (Sedac). Created and updated by Decrees nº 50.975/2013 and 54894/2019, it seeks to promote the development and strengthening of the creative economy in Rio Grande do Sul. It contemplates the principles of creativity, cultural diversity, sustainability and social inclusion for the promotion and promotion of creative sectors and territories, generating employment and income. In addition, it is an intersectoral initiative, which articulates actions with other state departments.
The program operates through five axes: Observatory – Research and Information (systematization of information, indicators and surveys); Market and Circulation (promotion actions and insertion of RS in international circuits to increase competitiveness and open new markets for the creative economy, organization of cooperation projects and attraction of international investments); Creative Territories (dissemination of creative economy production chains throughout RS, dialogue and support for existing actions and initiatives in the territory); Promotion and Investment (identification of different sources of financing for the creative economy sectors, formulation of fundraising policies with the private sector and multilateral institutions); and Training and Residency (permanent training of new entrepreneurs in the creative economy by offering courses, consultancy, residencies and sectorial meetings).
Through its axes of action, the program develops training resources and processes aimed at creating technical and managerial skills, strengthening productive arrangements and collaborative networks among agents of the creative economy.
